Since I have been in the photography industry since 1985, I have had a few studio locations in my career. I started in a one room office and set up a background in what ever empty spaces in the building I could borrow for studio portraits. I have rented a loft like space and also owned a Victorian home in downtown Marion, Iowa that housed the studio for many years.
When we designed our home on the farm we made sure to include designated space for my portrait studio, office/sales, and production rooms which is where I work now. For doing portraits I have a lot of acres to play with as well as other properties in the area I have permission to use.
I am located in eastern Iowa (Coggon) which is only 30 minutes north of Cedar Rapids/Marion Iowa and about 25 minutes south of Manchester, Iowa. My portrait clients have not minded the little extra drive time for a unique experience with me at the farm. I sure enjoy sharing the sights of the horses, cows, and chickens.
When it comes to designing custom fine art photography for wall décor, I can work long distance as easily as locally.
Here are what some of the rooms in the studio look like.
